Membership Benefits

Opportunities to Train
We offer a minimum of three potential classes per week per belt group, so students who are incredibly passionate about their training can get more time on the mat whenever possible, at the same monthly flat rate.
We have karate classes for adults of all ages, with students as old as 68 in our community.

Life happens! We get it
Whether you are injured or need to take a break for personal reasons, your membership can be paused! We believe in being flexible in our lives and training. Just send us your written notice, and we'll be waiting when you return.

Running and Walking Club
Being an adult, and especially a parent, means that you have about as much spare time as a F1 driver in a race. This club gives you an opportunity to walk/run twice or more a week, while also meeting new people. No need to schedule in more time: you’re already at the dojo, so take this time for yourself while we take care of the kids.

One Stop Gi Shop
We stock affordable entry-level karate suits for growing kids, as well as investment suits for the serious karate-ka. We carry SMAI, Adidas and Shen suits in a variety of weights.

Learn to Lead
Mentorship and friendship are important to us, and we create opportunities for students to learn and teach, gaining vital life skills while also learning responsibility through our Sempai-Kouhai program.

Old School Karate
There's a reason karate has been so successful all over the world for decades and decades. We teach the details that result in change - the care of a suit, mutual respect, the ability to learn from others, and how to push past one's individual limits without getting caught up in comparison to others.

That Wifi Life
We've got high-speed, fat pipe internet for parents to enjoy while waiting for kids to finish karate. We know that work doesn't stop just because you've left the office. Work in the garden or at the dojo desks while you wait.

Okinawan Lineage
We are proud to be members of Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate-Do Kyokai, an organisation 55 years old and headquartered in Okinawa, the birthplace of karate. Our certification is authenticated by Hanshi Kikugawa Masanari, a 10th dan and designated Intangible Cultural Treasure of Okinawa

Classes All Year
We run from January to December, only taking short breaks to recharge and get ready for each new term. The dojo is open during school holidays, so that students can keep moving and enjoying their training. Our timetable also allows for flexibility, with 3 classes for every belt group during the week.

Real Community
Remember that old adage about villages and kids? The dojo is a safe place for kids to meet and hang out, and we have social events and seminars to build those friendships that last decades.

We're a little bit famous on Youtube
We started a Youtube channel during lockdown to keep our students up to date, but it turned out to be a great way to upload syllabus-based videos, as well as share our combined 60+ years of karate knowledge with the world.
